Perfectly imperfect pieces looking for a home

This section is where we place items that didn’t go exactly to plan. They’re still practical and can be used, but they aren’t as pretty as we hoped. Instead of throwing them away, we offer them here at a reduced cost so nothing goes to waste. Every sale still helps support Chihuahua Rescue QLD.

Our website is run by volunteers, not marketing or merchandising pros. We’re learning as we go, and sometimes things don’t turn out quite right. By choosing something from this section, you help us reduce waste and keep practicing our skills so we can keep making fun, rescue-themed merch for you to enjoy.

Common imperfections may include:

• Dye migration
  This can show up as small spots of colour from the fabric in the design, especially on darker fabrics. Eg a black canvas pouch with dye migration will appear as random black spots on the design.

• Adhesion, shrink or shape issues
  Some prints may have jagged edges or small distortions & occasionally the heat pressing process will cause minor warping to the item.

• Sizing
  This might be when a decal doesn’t quite fit in the space as planned, but otherwise perfectly fine!

• AI oopsies
  We absolutely use AI to help create some of the images for our merchandise and this sometimes results in a 5th leg, missing arms, or incorrect spelling. Our humans generally catch these errors before we get to printing, but we aren’t perfect either and sometimes these mistakes slip through! These mistakes are pretty funny and make for a good laugh when we catch them!

Each product listed here will have clear photos of the actual item and any visible flaws. Some imperfections are easier to photograph than others, so please only choose from this section if you are comfortable with a piece that isn’t perfect, but still practical.

We may also place items here that just didn’t sell as well as we hoped, or trial designs that we decided not to continue with.
